On Friday 27 June, the Pumpkins and Stone Fish Bands wowed the crowd with music, dance, and community spirit during their first week of work placement. From toddlers to the elderly, people stopped to clap, dance, and ask: “Is this really a school?” Locals at Preston Market were stunned to learn the incredible performers were NCAT students.
Students worked across age groups and disciplines to plan and deliver the Preston Market Concert Series – developing real-world project management and teamwork skills They created veggie costumes, kids’ colouring activities, social media pages, and even a behind-the-scenes documentary. Older students mentored younger ones, and everyone showed initiative, creativity and resilience.
NCAT students will be performing at the Preston Market again this Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th July from 11:00am – 2:00pm, with two hours of live music and kids colouring activities. We encourage all members of the community to come down and support the incredible work and achievements of our students.
