Northern College of the Arts and Technology (NCAT) is proud to announce the launch of its new Photography Immersion program, expanding on the remarkable success of its established Art Immersion course that has been transforming creative education since 2008.
The Photography Immersion program offers year 11 and 12 students the opportunity to complete their secondary education while fully immersed in photographic arts. Students will develop mastery in both traditional analogue and contemporary photography techniques, with access to industry-standard studios, darkrooms and photographic equipment under the guidance of practicing photographers and dedicated teachers.
After witnessing the extraordinary success of our Art Immersion graduates over the years, we recognised the demand for a specialised photography pathway. This new stream of the existing program provides passionate young photographers with the same immersive creative environment that has made Art Immersion so successful, but with a focused curriculum tailored to photographic arts.
The program is designed for students who are passionate about photography and seeking a professional creative pathway, offering hands-on experience in digital imaging, darkroom processes, studio lighting, photo editing and composition, alongside opportunities to build professional photographic portfolios and participate in exhibitions.
Interested students and parents can complete an expression of interest form. Information sessions will be held in May and August for enrolment in the 2026 academic year.
