Congratulations to NCAT’s Lock Morton who has received a Premier’s VCE Award for his outstanding VCE results in 2024. Lock was recognised as an Outstanding VCE Vocational Major Student for completing the VM with distinction. This places him among seven top-achieving VM students in Victoria.
Lock demonstrated excellence and exceptional leadership across all areas of the VCE-VM program in Years 11 and 12, completing outstanding work and leading, inspiring and supporting other students both in his classes and the broader school community. His peers recognised his contribution electing him as the 2024 VCE-VM Student Leader and School Vice-Captain.
Lock pursued the VCE-VM pathway to gain a head start in digital technologies. He completed the Certificate III in Screen and Media, which he applied in compiling the video showcasing the VCE VM students’ journey at NCAT, a centrepiece of the VCE VM graduation. Through the Certificate II in Integrated Technologies, Lock gained a solid foundation in computer networking, coding, renewable energy, and Virtual Reality.
The VCE-VM program also allowed Lock to enhance his role as an Australian Air Force Cadet. Lock attended Leadership and Development Courses, culminating in his appointment as Squadron Leader in 2024. The VCE VM program gave Lock the opportunity to develop self-confidence and apply the communication and leadership skills gained in the course.
Lock is currently completing a Diploma of Information Technology at RMIT and hopes to work in the area of cyber security when he graduates. The entire NCAT community is very proud of him and wish him every success.
