Folio Preparation students create mural on High Street, Preston

Check out the changing face of 421 High Street Preston, part of an exciting collaboration between Darebin Council’s Place Team and students currently undertaking the Certificate IV in Folio Preparation at NCAT.

After a successful project on the same site earlier in the year, a group of talented NCAT students returned on 4 July to work their magic in Central Preston. The artists have created a mural that shares their vision of their ‘hood’, Preston, and the places, food and diversity that make it so special.

The collaboration aims to create opportunities for young artists to build skills and showcase their work to the community, and to create a sense of attachment to public spaces in High Street Preston.

A big shoutout to artists Angus, Chloe, Luke, Skip, William, Zainab and their teacher Suzi who spent five hours using posca pens to create this spectacular group mural.

Make sure to wander past 421 High Street next time you’re visiting Central Preston. And take time to explore the artwork – there’s so much to see and discover!
