VCE Student Named 2024 Vocational Student of the Year

Celebrating Excellence: Carly Brown Named 2024 Vocational Student of the Year!

We are thrilled to announce that Carly Brown, one of our Year 12 VCE students, has been honoured with the prestigious 2024 Vocational Student of the Year Award at the Victorian Training Awards!

Carly’s journey began with a childhood fascination with trains, which ignited her passion for engineering and mechanics. Her academic and vocational path has been marked by exceptional dedication and achievement. Starting in Year 10 at NCAT with a Certificate II in Engineering, Carly quickly demonstrated her aptitude for understanding complex engineering diagrams and concepts.

In Year 11, Carly expanded her horizons by completing a Certificate II in Electrotechnology, fuelling her ambition to work on major infrastructure projects. Now in Year 12, she is diversifying her skills with certificates in plumbing and automotive, while staying focused on her ultimate goal of securing an electrical apprenticeship and becoming an A Grade electrician.

Beyond her impressive technical skills, Carly is a passionate advocate for diversity in trades. As an ambassador for the Young Women in Trades & Technology group, she works tirelessly to challenge gender stereotypes and promote inclusivity in the industry. Her unwavering determination and commitment to her craft are truly inspiring.

Carly will represent Victoria in the Australian Training Awards to be held later this year.

Congratulations, Carly, on this well-deserved recognition! We are incredibly proud of your achievements and can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll continue to accomplish.
