Visual Arts

Our visual arts and design curriculum features a broad range of disciplines from graphic design, product and visual design to furniture, instrument making, photo imaging, studio and visual arts.

NCAT cultivates a vibrant atmosphere for student exploration and development, guiding artistic and technical skills for further education with tertiary institutions, TAFE institutions or specialist education providers in visual arts and design. Year 10, VCE, VCAL Arts Immersion Program and VET students benefit from a personalised curriculum tailored to meet individual artistic abilities, incorporating core subjects together with selected visual arts and design disciplines.

Visual Arts is for:

/

Students who love getting their hands dirty in art class.

/

Students that are constantly drawing or letting their imaginations run wild.

/

Students who want to be a professional artist.

/

Students looking to improve their art practice.

TestimonialsNatasha Stamos (Media Teacher)

“The way that we build the timetable is so that those Visual Arts subjects have pride of place and that students who come here and want to study those subjects know that they can confidently have a range of Visual Arts.”

TestimonialsAnne Connors (VCE Studio Arts)

“The strengths of visual arts at NCAT are its breadth and diversity. I don't think there's really any other school that offers the broad range of programs in the visual arts that we do.”

TestimonialsAnne Connors (VCE Studio Arts)

“It really is about them developing their own visual language and their capacity to express their ideas in visual form.”

TestimonialsAnne Connors (VCE Studio Arts)

“Students get an opportunity to come up with a great idea and then turn it into an actual product.”
