What is it all about?Awesome activities for people of all ages!! Take a tour of the brand new sustainable Technology Training Centre, listen to live bands, see CERES electric car, have a go on the rock climbing wall, or get your picture taken in our wacky photo booth. There will be face painting, trade and art activities, a sausage sizzle, dance performances prizes, raffle and so much more.Fix It! Repair SessionsFix It! – Have you got items cluttering your home, not sure whether they are beyond repair? The Fix It Repair Session volunteers’ will be on hand to assist you. Repairing is our volunteers’ passion, not necessarily their trade, but if they can’t help you, they can point you in the direction of a professional who can!
There will be three themed Fix it! Areas: Stiches- focusing on textiles; Switches - examining appliances; and Splinters – woodworking with hand tools. Map location T13 inside the technology building Fix It! Bike RepairsThe dedicated volunteers will be on site to assist you with repairing your bike, when you’re done you can park your bike in the solar powered bike shed Map location T11 inside the Technology Building
Robot RacesCome see the NCAT robot race, back the winner and you go into a draw to win an IPAD2!! (winner drawn at main stage at 2pm). Running Times: 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:00 Map location T5
Face painting and Hairspray Come see the creative artists at the face painting marquee, and let them work their magic. Don’t worry, if there is a queue you can grab a cup of coffee and piece of cake whilst you wait. Map location #7 (next to the cafĂ©) Dance Workshops and PerformancesCome see the talented NCAT dancers perform, or perhaps join them in a hip hop workshop. Map location #9 (inside the school hall)
Rock climbing/ Abseiling Wall (5 yrs old to adult)Get your muscles moving, and attempt the rock climbing and abseiling wall. If you’re into sports you can also check out the AFL handball competition which will be located next to this. Map location #5 (note: weather permitting)
Green Path of SustainabilityFollow the green path through and around the Technology Training Centre to learn about the sustainable features of this impressive building, there will also be designated tour times with a Daniel from NCAT, our resident sustainability enthusiast (includes tour of the roof if weather permitting). Start the tour at map location #14
QR Code Treasure HuntEver wondered what a QR code is and how they work? Head to the information booth or Career Hub to receive your treasure hunt instructions. Just keep your eyes peeled whilst you’re following the green path of sustainability, hand your form into the information booth/ career hub to receive your prize. Everyone gets a prize, plus a raffle ticket to go into the draw for an iTunes voucher and movies tickets!! (winner will be drawn at 2pm on main stage).
Glider making and competitionThe fun glider making activity includes a short tour with Nick (tour starts at map location #11) and includes glider making (map location T15 ) as well as a fun competition to see whose glider goes furthest. (map location T14). Running Times: 10:30, 11:30, 1:00, 2:00
Auto workshopsWant to learn how to change a tyre, or perhaps gain a little understand about what’s under the hood of your car, then come along and say hello to Colin and attend one of his auto workshops for hands on practical advice. Afterwards you can check out an electric car. Map location #13
